BISP Kafalat program: In the 58th Board meeting of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), Federal Minister Shazia Marri declared a 25% increase in stipends for account beneficiaries. This decision followed the approval of the Indication Committee’s recommendation during the meeting held on Monday at the Sindh Assembly building in Karachi. Consequently, the monthly cash assistance known as “samahi wazifa” for beneficiaries will rise from seven thousand rupees to 8,750 rupees.

The new payment model pilot will roll out in four selected rural districts, channeling cash assistance directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts. Pending the pilot’s success, this mode of payment will extend nationwide, enabling beneficiaries to choose their preferred bank for receiving cash assistance.
