BISP New Payment Increase 25% – Payment Latest Update (January 2024)

In the recent 58th Board meeting of the Benazir Income Support Program, Federal Minister Shazia Marri announced a significant 25% increase in the stipend for beneficiaries and gave her approval for beneficiary accounts. This financial aid will now be directly transferred to their bank accounts. Initially, a payment model pilot will be implemented in four selected districts of the country. Upon the successful completion of this pilot program, beneficiaries nationwide will have the option to open bank accounts of their choice.

This news brings joy to all Pakistanis as the amount received through the Benazir Income Support Program has seen a 25% boost. The Board meeting, chaired by Ms. Shazia Marri, Federal Minister for Research, Poverty, and Social Security, and Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Program, took place on Monday in the committee room of the Sindh Assembly building in Karachi.

The committee approved the recommendation of the Indication Committee to increase the stipend by 25%, resulting in the Samahi Wazifa rising from seven thousand rupees to 8,750 rupees.

Facilitating Residents of Remote Areas in Balochistan

Furthermore, the board also approved the use of mobile units to register individuals in Balochistan and other remote regions, where reaching ISP centers can be challenging. Given the geographical aspects of Balochistan, special attention was deemed necessary. The Chairman of NADRA, who attended the meeting, was instructed to exert additional efforts in aiding people from remote areas in obtaining identity cards.

New Registration Process

The BISP Board revealed that, under the new dynamic registration process called the National Socio-Economic Registration (NSER), 575 centers are currently operational in ISP Tehsil Offices across the country. Additionally, the board approved an Internship Program for recent university graduates with experience in working with the Benazir Income Support Program.

Updated Payment Information – May 2023

As of today, 90 lakh eligible families are benefiting from the Benazir Income Support Program, receiving essential financial assistance. In response to rising inflation, the collective installment for the BISP New Payment has been increased from 7,000 to 8,750 rupees until January. The March installment will be disbursed at 8,500 rupees, and beneficiaries can expect 9,000 rupees for the period of April to June.

In the May 11th meeting of the Benazir Income Support Program, Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Chairman, Ms. Shazia Marri, presided. Ms. Shazia Marri continues to play a pivotal role as the Chairman of the Benazir Income Support Program. Through various initiatives, the program has empowered 90 lakh women in Pakistan.

During the meeting, the significance of upholding the provisions of the Constitution for the country’s development was emphasized. Former Senator Safdar Abbasi stressed the importance of understanding the spirit behind the Constitution’s words and called for greater inclusion of economically disadvantaged women.

New Budget Allocation for BISP Program

Currently, 472 Benazir Development Centers are operating across the country. The enrollment process through the registry is gaining momentum, leading to an expansion in the number of program beneficiaries. The budget for the BISP Program has been substantially increased from Rs. 250 billion to Rs. 400 billion, marking a significant 60% rise.

Exclusive Inclusion of Transgender Women

Transgender women are now exclusively included in the Benazir Kafalat program, with no PMT score requirements. Transgender women can register with NADRA and visit the Benazir Income Support Program office to complete their registration and receive financial assistance.

Online Registration for Convenience

Lastly, the Benazir Income Support Program is launching the Benazir Social Security Accounts. Under this initiative, eligible women in the BISP program can open bank accounts in any bank of their choice and receive assistance directly from the program into these accounts. Deserving women are encouraged to visit their nearest bank to open a Benazir Social Security Account and access their financial support.
