The Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program has been reinstated by the government, aiming to provide relief to deserving and impoverished individuals. This program, initiated during the COVID-19 pandemic, serves as a financial aid initiative by the Pakistani government. The pandemic had detrimental effects on the nation’s economy and the income of low-income citizens, necessitating financial support.
The primary objective of the Ehsaas program was to offer financial assistance to 12 million low-income households. Those adversely affected by the pandemic, with lost businesses and jobs, were confined to their homes. Under the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program, these individuals were granted 12,000 rupees each to meet their basic needs. Under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s special directives, this amount has now been increased to 14,000 rupees.
