NEPRA Raises Electricity Tariffs for K-Electric Customers (April 2024)

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has raised the electricity rates for K-Electric customers based on monthly fuel adjustment charges.

NEPRA has approved a request from K-Electric to increase the power tariff by a range of Rs. 1.48 to Rs. 4.45 per unit, as sanctioned by the Federal Government.

This tariff adjustment will apply to electricity consumed during October and November 2023, with the following extra charges:

  • For consumption of 300 units: An additional charge of Rs. 1.48 per unit.
  • For consumption exceeding 300 units: An extra cost of Rs. 3.21 per unit.
  • For consumption exceeding 5 KW: An additional charge of Rs. 4.45 per unit.

Previously, NEPRA had approved a smaller increase of Rs. 0.46 per unit in the power tariff. This increase was related to fuel adjustment charges for July.
