The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) continues its relentless campaign to eliminate the widespread proliferation of illicit internet service providers. In collaboration with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), PTA has recently executed three successful raids in the localities of Samundari, Khiderwala, and Mureedwala.
These operations, targeting illegal internet service providers, were carried out at specific locations: Gojra Road in Samundari, the Main Bus Stop in Khiderwala, and Mureedwala. During these raids, two individuals were apprehended, and various pieces of equipment belonging to these unauthorized ISPs were seized. Additionally, an illicit wireless point-to-point (P2P) link/antenna was confiscated.
The effectiveness of these operations against illegal ISPs can be attributed to PTA’s ongoing surveillance, unwavering commitment, and persistent efforts to combat the problem of unlawful internet services. This not only helps in curbing tax evasion but also prevents the misreporting of revenues, thereby safeguarding the national treasury.
We urge the public to exercise caution and obtain telecommunications services exclusively from PTA-licensed operators to avoid any unforeseen interruptions in service. A comprehensive list of licensed operators can be found at the following link: PTA Licensed Operators.
