Verify Punjab Driving License Online (March 2024)

Before taking to the road, it is imperative to secure a valid driving license, as operating a vehicle without this official document is considered a legal offense.

Driving licenses, whether for motorcycles, cars, commercial vehicles, or other categories, are granted by the traffic police department following an evaluation of the applicant’s driving capabilities. Upon successfully passing the driving test, the competent authority issues a license, permitting the individual to operate a vehicle on public roads.

To obtain a permanent license, the following documents are typically required:

  1. A duly filled Application Form (A) enclosed in a file cover.
  2. The original Learner Permit, held for a minimum of 6 weeks.
  3. A Medical Certificate.
  4. Three passport-sized recent photographs (attested).
  5. An attested copy of the applicant’s Computerized National Identity Card (C.N.I.C.).
  6. Payment of the requisite fee, with the receipt affixed to the license document.
  7. A slip for depositing Rs100 in any branch of Habib Bank (applicable only in Lahore).

Once all necessary documents are prepared, the applicant can visit a nearby office and take the driving test to obtain their license.

Unfortunately, there exist unscrupulous individuals who deceive people by providing fraudulent licenses, bypassing the lawful process. They demand substantial sums of money and issue fake licenses in return.

To counter the issuance of fake licenses, the Punjab region has introduced an online system called the Driving License Issuance Management System (DLIMS) Phase-II. This system automates the processes of issuing, renewing, and upgrading driving licenses across the province. DLIMS employs cutting-edge technology and equipment to provide efficient services to the public while furnishing up-to-date statistics to the authorities. This system revolutionizes the issuance of all types of licenses through a centralized network.

For license verification in Punjab, holders of official licenses can visit the DLIMS website. On the website’s homepage, there is an option labeled “Verify Your Driving License.” Clicking on “verify now” redirects you to the relevant page, where you need to input your CNIC number and license number. If the license is valid, the holder’s data will be displayed on the website; otherwise, it will indicate that no record was found.
